About Wenmar Beef Shorthorns

Warren Farm sits in the Worcestershire countryside, located generally central between the historic cities of Worcester and Hereford, close to the village of Lulsley. The farm sits high up in its own small secluded valley overlooking its own land and is surrounded by dense woodland. The farm is down to grass with small rolling fields and wooded dingles ideally suited to running suckler cattle.

Our farming policy is extensive not intensive. We are keen supporters of maintaining a natural sustainable, viable farm environment and always attempt to work respecting the countryside and its natural offerings. The aim at Wenmar is to work with Worldwide genetics using imported semen and embryos from Canada, Australia and the US. As a source of our embryos we primarily use shared ownership of donor cows. Recently we have increased our genetic pool using short term lease arrangements. We also selectively purchase groups of embryos and specific flushes through our pool of contacts as a bespoke customer service.

Wenmar Beef Shorthorn cattle are focussed on expanding the UK gene pool, breeding quality bulls and heifers suitable to carry the breed forward onto the next generation. We seek to produce a beast that is capable of efficiently producing quality beef for today’s marketplace. We like our cattle to exhibit breed character, and must maintain the true beef shorthorn traits as a hardy productive suckler cow. We focus on easy calving, good udders with plenty of milk, mobility and importantly, quiet natured with a good temperament.
