Her male calf was sold as a bull and both of her heifer calves have been retained in our herd. Melody Maker was purchased privately from Charles Lowther. She is the quietest cow on the farm.

Photo taken August 2012. Our heifers are weaned and housed over their first winter, they are then kept outside in woodland and rough pasture until being ready for bulling at around 21 months old. Our policy is for our heifers to have their first calf at around 30 and 33 months old.
